Cassandra Vieten, PhD

Director of Research, Arthur C. Clarke Center for Human Imagination, University of California, San Diego

Cassandra Vieten, PhD is a professor, licensed clinical psychologist, mind-body medicine researcher, author, consultant, and internationally recognized workshop leader and public speaker. Her current research projects focus on establishing training guidelines for spiritual and religious competencies for mental health professionals; developing and delivering wellness programs for law enforcement agencies, officers and professional staff; developing virtual reality tools and experiences designed to induce perspective shifts that change people's worldviews; investigating the nature and potentials of imagination: and studying the therapeutic potential of psychedelics.

Martin Polanco, M.D.

Founder, The Mission Within

Martin Polanco M.D., is the medical director of a program which serves Special Operations Veterans. This clinical program specializes in treatment-resistant and complex conditions such as mild Traumatic Brain Injury (mTBI), Post-traumatic Stress, Depression and/or Addiction as a result of experiences during military service.His extensive experience in treating addiction laid the groundwork for developing The Mission Within. Dr. Polanco was the founder and medical director at Crossroads Treatment Center which demonstrated an effective mental health treatment model using psychedelics. He built on this work by contributing to the body of psychedelic research, specifically focused on the outcome and phenomenological studies of Ibogaine and 5 MeO-DMT.His mission is to make psychedelic therapy for PTSD available to every veteran that needs it while conducting research to prove it's effectiveness - the end goal being the legalization of psychedelic medicines.

Brooke Balliett, LMFT

Co-Founder and Clinical Director, California Center for Psychedelic Therapy

Brooke Balliett, LMFT, is a licensed marriage and family therapist (52456) at the California Center for Psychedelic Therapy located in Hollywood, California. Her life's work is dedicated to stewarding psychological, spiritual & relationship health through self-awareness, emotional intelligence & recognition of the unique drive towards authenticity held within each of us.  

From a framework integrating trauma, developmental & transpersonal psychology, Brooke provides, trains, and mentors multiple psychedelic-assisted psychotherapies, including MDMA-assisted therapy, psilocybin therapy, and ketamine-assisted psychotherapy. Additionally, she was a leader in psychedelic risk reduction services with the Zendo Project & Kosmicare as they pioneered psychedelic emergency care, drug education and peer support worldwide.  She is a student of the world and honored to say she has worked in service of psychedelic wellness on 4 continents and counting.

After over a decade of clinical service provision and program development in publicly funded community mental health centers across central Los Angeles, she co-founded the California Center for Psychedelic Therapy as her offering to those seeking mental health within a limited system of accessible, effective care & as a commitment to furthering access to cutting-edge psychedelic treatments to heal individuals and the communities surrounding them.

Lynn-Marie Morski MD, JD

President, Psychedelic Medicine Association

Lynn Marie Morski, MD, JD, is the president of the Psychedelic Medicine Association and host of the Psychedelic Medicine Podcast. She has sat on the advisory boards of Psychedelics Today, Cybin, VETS, Inc. (Veterans Exploring Treatment Solutions), and the Ketamine Task Force.

Dr. Morski received her medical degree from St. Louis University School of Medicine, completed family medicine residency at Mayo Clinic, and did her sports medicine fellowship at the University of Arizona. She later received her law degree from Thomas Jefferson School of Law and is a member of the California Bar

Joshua Wyrosdic

Ph.D. Student at McGill University 

Joshua Wyrosdic is a Ph.D. student in Neuroscience at McGill University under the supervision of Dr. Charles Bourque, investigating the mechanisms underlying MDMA-induced hyponatremia. His research employs electrophysiological techniques to examine how MDMA affects vasopressin neuron activity and disrupts fluid balance regulation. Josh holds a bachelor’s in psychology with a minor in biology from the University of Massachusetts-Boston. In addition to his research, Josh is actively involved in scientific outreach, leading initiatives to communicate complex neuroscience topics to broader audiences, including a project on MDMA-induced hyponatremia featured in The Montrealer

Serena Wu

Partner, Radicle Law

Serena Wu is a business attorney and Harvard Law alum, who founded Radicle Law to provide innovative solutions to mission-driven clients in emerging industries. Her practice focuses on social entrepreneurship and plant medicines, advising on corporate and transactional matters, alternative dispute resolution, regulatory compliance, risk mitigation and religious freedom protections.

Kimberly Chew

Senior Counsel with Husch Blackwell LLP

Kimberly Chew is senior counsel in Husch Blackwell LLP’s virtual office, The Link, where she co-leads the firm’s psychedelic and emerging therapies practice. With a robust background in biotech research, Kimberly guides life sciences clients through the intricate landscape of clinical trials, FDA regulations, and academic research compliance. Her practice encompasses regulatory due diligence and intellectual property enforcement, particularly in patent infringement and validity. She helps drug developers and entrepreneurs navigate the complexities of the life sciences sector, addressing regulatory and commercial challenges to achieve business goals.

Kathryn Tucker, JD

Director of Advocacy, National Psychedelics Association

Three decades of experience moving multidimensional advocacy agendas forward for social change movements in the patient rights domain. My work has involved state and federal impact litigation as well as state and federal legislative work. I am known for creative bold advocacy and achieving outstanding results. I have designed and taught seminars at leading law schools, and am a frequently invited speaker at national conferences of physicians, attorneys and health policy experts. I share my ideas in journals of law, medicine and health policy concerning patient rights and advocacy to protect and expand these rights. Places from which I have had the privilege of doing this work include: Perkins Coie; Compassion in Dying(Director of Legal Affairs); Compassion & Choices(Director of Advocacy and Legal Affairs); the Disability Rights Legal Center(Executive Director); the End of Life Liberty Project(Executive Director); Emerge Law Group(Founder and Co-Chair, Psychedelic Practice Group); the National Psychedelics Association(Special Advocacy Advisor).I enjoy teaching in this arena("Law, Medicine and Ethics at the End of Life"; "Psychedelics: Evolving Science, Law and Policy") at law schools including: the University of Washington, Seattle University, Lewis & Clark, Loyola Law School. Awarded Fulbright Specialist to share scholarship internationally, at Universities of Auckland, Otago and Canterbury in New Zealand. Outside the law I am a dedicated practitioner and teacher of Ashtanga Yoga; I weave my work in law and policy with my yoga practice and teaching by offering yoga retreats/workshops: "Preparing for the Final Asana: Law and Medicine at the End of Life and What Yoga has to Offer", at wonderful retreat centers including Rancho la Puerta, Kripalu Center and White Lotus. I am a multisport outdoor adventure athlete. Former US National Champion in Olympic Flatwater Kayak, and US Team Member in Whitewater Slalom Kayak. Often in the great outdoors: Nordic skiing, trail running, river or ocean kayaking, backpacking, road or mountain biking, or deep in yogic practices!

Gris Alves

Thanatology, Ceremonialist, Somatic Therapy

Gris Alves is a Thanatologist, Mindfulness Teacher, therapist, coach, and ceremonialist specializing in earth-based healing. Host of the bilingual podcast Tales of Recovery (Recuperando La Vida), she shares her journey of healing through love and mindful practices. Gris facilitates Ancestral Healing Ceremonies and supports those in deep grief, particularly around end-of-life experiences. With 30 years of experience in addiction recovery, she currently uses Dr. Gabor Maté's Compassionate Inquiry therapeutic approach.

Karen Luong

Partner, Husch Blackwell LLP

Karen Luong is a litigation partner at Husch Blackwell LLP, where she co-leads the firm’s Psychedelics and Emerging Therapies practice group. Her team guides researchers, manufacturers, investors, clinicians, and businesses around and through the many obstacles that result from the patchwork of state and federal laws regulating Schedule I controlled substances. Karen has spent the last 18 years as a trial lawyer defending companies across the US in litigation related to toxic and dangerous products.

Anthony J. Coulson

Criminal Justice and Drug Regulatory Consultant

Anthony J. Coulson is the of NTH Consulting, Inc., who focuses on providing technical assistance on new drug development, substance abuse, US border, and gun policy for international organizations and governments. He is a nationally recognized expert in drug trafficking, gun, immigration and domestic violence issues and acts as a consultant and advisor to US and international news organizations. Mr. Coulson retired from the Drug Enforcement Administration, a component of the United States Department of Justice, in 2010, as Assistant Special Agent in Charge, serving 28 years. He has managed grants for the DOJ in Indian Country, Rural States, and Border Communities. Mr. Coulson has a BS Degree in Criminal Justice from Northeastern University in Boston, Massachusetts and a MS degree in Criminal Justice Administration from Niagara University.

Nick Norris

Owen Scott Muir, MD

CMO, Radical Health

Owen Scott Muir, MD, is the CMO of Radial Health, and an Anna Freud National Centre for Children and Families-trained psychiatrist and official Mentalizing Treatment Supervisor. He’s also faculty at the Menninger Clinic, with over 60,000 hours of clinical experience. He is the coauthor of Adolescent Suicide and Self Injury: Mentalizing Theory and Treatment, published by Springer Nature, 2020. He is an accomplished academic with over 200 peer-reviewed publications and keynote presentations across a range of academic settings. He has presented keynotes at Spotify’s Post Pandemic Homecoming, the American Academy of Emergency Psychiatry, the International Conference on Emergency Medicine, AACAP, APA, NUBE, CTMSS, NASSPD, and other letter-soup academic conferences. He was a visiting lecturer teaching architecture students at Pratt School of Design, and hundreds of other appearances. His was the only medical program selected out of 5,000 applicants as a Creator First Accelerator Winner on the Clubhouse app in 2021.
